In the most recent edition of the Escolab program, 50 research centers participated, with a total of 6,844 students from 131 educational institutions. A total of 151 activities were organized, which were conducted in 411 sessions. These details are reflected in the newly released report of the educational program.
Of the professionals who contributed to the program, 70% were women. Most of them came from research centers (52.9%) and universities (35.3%). The activities offered included 63 workshops, 51 visits, 40 lectures, and 28 demonstrations.
In terms of topics, most activities focused on life sciences (82%), followed by computer science and technology (41%), physics and chemistry (37%), social sciences (6%), humanities (4%), economics and business (1%), and others (16%).
Notably, 93.5% of the Escolab activities during the past academic year received a very satisfactory or satisfactory rating from participating teachers.
Since 2006, the Escolab program has established a connection between educational institutions and research centers. Secondary, high school, and vocational students have the opportunity to visit research facilities and take part in workshops, guided tours, and lectures. This experience allows students to engage with professionals in experimental sciences, social sciences, and technology.
