Would you like to travel to the Americas? Well, a well-known author will act as your guide, so that you can travel to distant lands without even leaving the city. Which writers have taken us from Barcelona to the Americas, or vice-versa? Download the podcast and put your headphones on.

Martí Gironell is an author from La Garrotxa and in one of his novels he is sure to have taken you on a wonderful journey into the past. This time he is acting as a guide to Barcelona city, although the walk he suggests has a lot to do with his profession. He wondered which literary fictions, by authors from Catalonia or anywhere around the world, have taken us from Barcelona to the Americas, or from the Americas to Barcelona. So he has gradually put together some walks which may possibly pass through Argentina, Chile or Mexico.
Walk the route and listen to extracts from the novels La néta dAdam [Adam's Granddaughter], by Patricia Gabancho; Largo pétalo de mar [A Long Petal of the Sea], by Isabel Allende; La cocinera [The Cook], by Coia Valls; Pura vida [Pure Life], by José María Mendiluce and Ese príncipe que fui [The Prince That Was], by Jordi Soler, and look at the city through the eyes of literature.
