Disruptions to mobility for the new stage of the work to cover the Ronda de Dalt
Work on the construction of the emergency exit shafts on the side nearest the sea gets under way on Monday, 20 October, after the same work was completed on the side nearest the mountain in the spring. The process means traffic will not be able to access Pg. Vall d’Hebron from C/ Arenys, with changes in circulation in the neighbourhood of La Teixonera until March 2026.
The first tasks will be the foundations and structure of the site so that digging can start there to empty it.
Next to the exit closest to C/ Arenys, a technical chamber will also be built for the ring road in the future, once the section between Av. Vallcarca and the Institut Vall d’Hebron is completely covered.
Disruptions to mobility in the neighbourhood of La Teixonera
Side lanes on the side nearest the sea in Pg. Vall d’Hebron will be reduced between Av. Vallcarca and Av. Jordà, with just one lane operating in the direction of the Llobregat.
The main disruption is the closure of the roundabout where C/ Arenys and Pg. Vall d’Hebron converge. The change in direction in Pg. Vall d’Hebron at his point will have to be done with the roundabout in C/ Jericó or using Av. Jordà.
To facilitate traffic from the neighbourhood of La Teixonera towards Pg. Vall d’Hebron and the Ronda de Dalt, as from Monday, 20 October, the traffic flow in C/ Plutó will change direction between C/ Arenys and Pl. Isop. The change will be duly signposted, as will the diversion, which uses Plutó, Pl. Isop, Segur, Saturnino Calleja and Coll i Alentorn to access Pg. Vall d’Hebron in both directions.
Vehicles circulating in C/ Arenys and wishing to join Pg. Vall d’Hebron can divert:
- First and foremost, turning right using the streets of Iriarte, Samaniego, Plaça d’Isop, Segur, Saturnino Calleja and Coll i Alentorn to reach the junction between Pg. Vall d’Hebron with Av. Jordà, from where they can access the street in both directions.
- Turning left using the slip lane on the side of the street nearest the sea, heading towards C/ General Mendoza and then C/ Veciana, to join Passeig de la Vall d’Hebron in the direction of the Besòs.
As for buses 19, 119 and H2, these routes will be affected but the stops will remain practically unchanged, with slight shifts of a new metres in some cases, also duly signposted.

Covering the Ronda de Dalt
The process to cover the section between Av. Vallcarca and the Institut Vall d’Hebron will give continuity to the cover already in place between the Mercat de la Vall d’Hebron and the school. The section covers 340 metres, to add to the 200 metres already covered, generating a new surface area for greenery and public uses, particularly benefitting local people in the neighbourhoods of Sant Genís dels Agudells and La Teixonera.
The work on the cover (structure and installations) is expected to be completed in the summer of 2027. The work on the structure in the current stage entails an investment of some 12 million euros, plus the cost of the cover, the installations and finishings for the tunnel, with work on these to start in the autumn too and involving an investment of 20 million euros. The urbanisation work on the new space generated is currently being defined in another project.
