‘Let play in the squares’ gets under way in busy tourist areas

The initiative offers a series of activities between now and February for families and local residents in different locations in Ciutat Vella and the areas around the Sagrada Família, the goal being to generate new social and community uses in areas with a high influx of tourists (EGA).

Over the next six months, the “Let’s play in the squares” programme will be broadened. The programme is part of the municipal strategy to further develop the management of tourism in areas with a high influx of tourists (EGA), the main goal being to preserve uses by local people in certain parts of the city.

Activities are being organised every weekend through until February, in the gardens in Pl. Sagrada Família, in Pl. Reial and in the Jardins Voltes d’en Cirés, with a total of 61 sessions planned.

The initiative to add vitality to these spaces in Sagrada Família and La Rambla and their surrounding areas consists of a series of play activities to boost public space as an educational place that favours the comprehensive development and health of children and teenagers, within the context of use by families and local residents, aimed at all age groups.
