The lifeguard and rescue service at Barcelona’s beaches has brought 27 days of protest to an end. The agreement between the different parties includes a series of improvements in operational and working conditions for the service, such as an extension to the calendar, meaning an additional 24 days during the low season for 2026, three days in the medium season and 19 days in the high season, an increase in staff during low and medium seasons to boost the service at three beaches, a project to build new lifeguard and rescue premises and other measures.
