Improvements at over half of municipal nursery schools
Under the slogan “Looking after nursery schools”, the city is starting a maintenance and care programme for municipal kindergartens in the summer and will carry out work at 55 centres. The work planned is based around open and green playgrounds, complete repaints, energy transition, thermal comfort and other projects to extend, renovate and improve facilities.
In many cases, playgrounds at nursery schools are also open to the neighbourhood. The project will convert recreational and educational outdoor spaces at 26 nursery schools into more natural spaces, adding plant tubs and a total of 3,366 plants. Playgrounds will also include games for children and breastfeeding spaces.
Inside nursery schools, the comprehensive repainting plan should see 18 centres in the city painted throughout, improving their quality with new paint schemes and soft colours to generate light and well-being.
Work will also be carried out to improve climate control at 15 municipal nursery schools by the end of the year. The twofold objective here is to improve thermal comfort and back the use of renewable energy.
Finally, renovation work will be carried out in parts of 13 nursery schools and includes replacement windows, renovation of indoor areas, classrooms, offices and other facilities.
