The city now has 151 distinguished centenarian organisations
The Full Council unanimously approved the award of eleven new distinctions for centenary institutions and organisations in the city. This fourth edition of these awards means the city has now paid homage to 151 organisations dating back a century or more and with an accredited link to Barcelona.
These are organisations from various spheres such as education, culture, sport, science, professional groups, religion, social action etc.
The awards will be formally given around the festivity of Santa Eulàlia (12 February) in a ceremony held in the Saló de Cent.
The eleven centenary organisations recognised this year are:
- Acadèmia de Ciències Mèdiques i de la Salut de Catalunya i de Balears
- Agrupació Coral Recreativa Les Flors de Maig
- Centre Cultural Els Propis
- Cercle Filatèlic i Numismàtic de Barcelona
- Col·legi de l’Art Major de la Seda de Barcelona
- Col·legi Oficial de Veterinaris de Barcelona
- Escola Baixeras
- Federació Catalana de Futbol
- Fundació Privada Prat
- Gremi del Vidre Pla i Tancaments de Catalunya
- Institució Catalana d’Història Natural
