On-street motorcycle parking spaces increased by 25%
On-street parking for motorcycles has increased by 25% in Barcelona since 2019, rising from 66,959 spaces to 84,083. The creation of this type of parking responds to the municipal will to gain space for pedestrians and guarantee that pavements are free of obstacles for pedestrians, as set out in the Urban Mobility Plan 2024.
Sant Martí is the district with the most on-street motorcycle parking parking spaces (16,095), followed by L’Eixample (13,873) and Sarrià – Sant Gervasi (12,084). As for places indicated on pavements, these have been reduced by 8% since the end of 2018, dropping from 4,971 to 4,532.
Work is also being done with motorcyclists to improve road safety and help towards the energy transition.
