Programme to open up nursery school playgrounds extended to all districts

The programme to open playgrounds at municipal nursery schools is expanding, with the number of playgrounds to rise from four to fourteen. The programme opens up playgrounds at publicly operated education centres in the city outside of school hours, allowing all citizens to make use of them.

The programme is designed to boost free-time recreation and play opportunities for youngsters and their families, as well as for adults in general, promoting the use of education centres as neighbourhood facilities.

The open playgrounds programme at municipal nursey schools is now available in all districts:

  • Ciutat Vella: Canigó (C/ Àngels, 7) and La Mar (C/ Andrea Doria, 40)

In addition, during the same hours, users can make use of children’s books as part of the programme “Lletra petit aals patis oberts”, offered by the Barcelona Library Consortium through their collaboration with this initiative.

The open playground programme is promoted by the Councillor’s Office for Education with the collaboration of all the city’s districts and various social and educational organisations.
