Service to prevent, detect and tackle cases of LGBTI-phobia
LGBTI-phobia is the discrimination towards or aversion to lesbians, gays, transexuals, intersexuals, bisexuals and non-normative gender expressions, with different degrees of violence. Action is needed before any situation of marginalisation, harassment or violence that violates sexual and gender freedom. Here we explain some municipal resources available to you.
Insults, humiliation, discrimination, harassment, threats, physical aggression, psychological violence and cyberharassment are forms of LGBTI-phobia that need to be eradicated. In all, 78 incidents relating to LGBTI-phobia and 42 cases of hate speech have been recorded in Barcelona since 1 January 2025. In the guide to detecting LGBTI-phobia you can find practical information on these types of discrimination.
