The Escoles + Sostenibles network  supports the education community in the development of projects on climate action, sustainable food, responsible consumption, biodiversity, mobility, environmental quality and water and energy saving. From the 69 schools that made up the initiative when it was set up in the year 2000, the network has now become a key space in the environmental transformation of the city and in training new generations in the values of sustainability.

The inaugural ceremony for the 2025-2026 school year brought together nearly 250 people, between students and teachers from various centres. The founder of the programme, Teresa Franquesa, also took part, as did teachers who formed part of the project from the start and former pupils who, 25 years on, shared how the experience shaped their understanding of sustainability.
