TMB is to add 19 electric buses to its fleet. The vehicles will arrive at the end of 2026, offering a step forward towards sustainability and lower emissions. The articulated vehicles will replace old models and boost the zero-emissions fleet, contributing to cleaner and more efficient public transport.

There are currently 46 hydrogen buses and 202 fully electric buses in service, with these 19 by the company BYD to be added.

The new buses are articulated 18 metre units with a capacity of up to 120 passengers. They work with night charging and feature BYD Blade batteries, which are much lighter and provide enough autonomy to work all through the day. Another new aspect with these vehicles is their Nelec chassis by Castrosua, more accessible and with larger spaces also adapted for people with reduced mobility.

These 19 units are being added to the TMB fleet with the goal of renewing the oldest vehicles, improving reliability and at the same time, reducing the environmental impact. moving towards the total decarbonisation of the bus fleet.
