The following vehicles have been added:

  • 16 vans (Ford Transit): four plug-in hybrids, three 100% electric and nine with heat engines.
  • 5 all-purpose vehicles (Dacia Duster, non plug-in hybrids).

The new vehicles boost the fleet operated by the territorial units of the City Police, replacing and improving on the oldest units as they feature larger multimedia panels and better safety systems.

Acquired through a leasing agreement, the operation involved 1,846,761 euros, an investment that also includes the installation of electric charging points.

The City Police currently have 624 motor vehicles, 50.8% of which are electric or hybrid (115 and 202 respectively).

The corps are set to acquire a further 90 vehicles next year to continue modernising, updating and increasing its fleet.

More resources

Barcelona City Council is opting to equip the City Police with more human resources and materials to continue improving the operational response to new realities and emerging issues.

The corps grows every year and currently has around 3,500 officers, the highest number ever.

In terms of material resources, the new territorial unit of the City Police in Sarrià – Sant Gervasi comes into operation at the end of 2026, entailing an investment of 20 million euros, plus the new Tres Xemeneies control centre.
