‘After a seven day’s march through woodland, the traveller directed toward Baucis cannot see the city and yet he has arrived. The slender stilts that rise from the ground at a great distance from one another and are lost above the clouds support the city.’ Inspired by a quote from Italo Calvino’s Invisible CitiesBaucis is a project that imagines a made-up city, a timeless idea of a city inhabited only by light, sound and data. An analogy between pixels and the windows of buildings. An interpretation of the relationships created between various points of light. Imagine Baucis at night, when cities go dark and buildings are gradually flooded with the reflections of thousands of tiny lights, creating a random choreography and sketching a unique, moving landscape of light.
