The Return to the origin lighting intervention is conceived as a critique of architecture that serves corporate power. It is an architectural typology that identifies with monumentality and totemic aspiration — landmarks in the urban landscape — and seeks to set itself apart from Barcelona's customary urban scale. The central element is a formal reinterpretation of the monumental arch with an intentional change of scale, more human and anthropocentric, where new interactions and experiences are created along a journey through progressively smaller scales of successive modules. The journey also engages with emotions, lighting effects and exploring the textures of a permeable textile enclosure that transforms through light and colour, revealing the structure as an essential element of architectural language and exposing the usually concealed internal order. Thus, Return to the origin also reveals itself as a reinterpretation of the octagonal module, the architectural structure, and the intersection of spaces.
