The Avinguda Diagonal in Barcelona, a historic symbol of urban connection, becomes the stage for a unique light-based work of art. Located in a tree-lined section, this installation redefines the space as a place of experimentation and interaction.

The central element is a set of bicycle rims which, combined with lights and coloured filters, transform the nocturnal landscape with dynamic, colourful projections.

La Diagonal used to represent the hustle and bustle of motorised traffic and the city’s industrialisation. Today, the frantic pace has shifted to other forms of movement, such as bicycles, the inspiration for this artwork. As with the sky, which was once covered in smoke and is now marked by orbital traffic, this urban space is being transformed by new forms of activity.

With Diagonal, EINA poses a paradox: how can an urban space used as a traffic hub become a place for play and reflection? This artistic installation invites us to question the balance between progress and sustainability, reimagining the relationship between the city and nature.
