Maravillas Rojo has a Degree in Economics and is Senior Executive by ESADE. She has been Deputy Mayor and Councillor of Barcelona City Council, President of Barcelona Activa (1995-2007), Secretary General of Employment of the Ministry of Labour (2008-2010) and Director of social and cooperative entrepreneurship programs at the General Directorate of Social Economy of the Generalitat de Catalunya (2011 -2015). She currently is President of Abacus cooperative. She has published "Aprender con las ciudades. Estrategias para ganar el futuro (Learning with cities. Strategies to win the future)”, and she has been awarded Diari Ara’s Lifetime Achievement Award (2015) and FIDEM (International Foundation of Women Entrepreneurs) (2016).
