Barcelona Science Plan 2020-2023
The Barcelona Science Plan 2020-2023 articulates science and university policy in the metropolitan area with the aim of turning the city into a European capital of research and innovation.
The plan has been drawn up on the basis of collaboration and consensus between the city's scientific community, thanks to the Barcelona Science Advisory Council, research centres, the research and innovation business community, universities, the administrations involved and the citizens who have participated.
In 2021, the plan was given new impetus to adapt it to the needs and challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, thanks to a participatory process open to all citizens through the decidim platform.
We have before us a commitment to knowledge and innovative solutions, a strategy in favour of quality of life, ageing, mobility and the environment, among others, which is articulated in four axes: Barcelona, city of science in Europe; research to face the challenges of the city; scientific culture for the citizens and with the citizens; and science, art, innovation and society.
