Intense spring at Pedralbes Monastery
Cycles of music and diaries, family activities, guided tours and L'hora màgica (Magic Hour) are on the programme.
The Royal Monastery of Santa María de Pedralbes has published its spring programme, a particularly active time in this historic building, taking advantage of the good weather and the long days. In addition to the activities that take place throughout the year, such as guided tours, courses and workshops, between April and June different cycles will be organised, and the Magic Hour will also arrive: from 6 June, the monastery will open its doors every Tuesday and Friday afternoon so that anyone who wishes can enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the cloister at sunset.
For the second year, the Cycle of Dialogues on History, Culture and Society is being held, this year with the title The fears that hold us back. An approach to the collective anxieties of the West. It consists of four sessions, one in April and three in May, with announcements such as Natural catastrophes and apocalyptic terrors, Violence, fear and social and gender inequality and The threat of the enemy within. Conspiracy, psychosis and power. If you prefer music, from 19 April to 21 June there will be the lyrical cycle 'Les Veus del Monestir', organised by the District of Les Corts and with musical direction by Miguel Ángel Dionis and Ricard Estrada.
It is also worth mentioning that on Wednesday 3 May there will be open doors to the monastery to celebrate the anniversary of its inauguration, and ten days later it will take part in La Nit dels Museus. On Wednesday 18 May there will also be open doors, to commemorate International Museum Day, and from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 June, Corpus Christi: there will be the ou com balla in the cloister and the Corpus Christi carpet in the Cloister of the Cats, thanks to the students of Floral Decoration and Environmental Monitoring of the Barcelona Activa Workshops. By the way, if you want to take part in making the carpet, you can do so on 7 June from 11 a.m. onwards.
