Recycled sounds

The BCN ImproFest proposes various sound actions and instruments made with recycled materials.

On 2 and 3 March, the Albareda Cultural Centre is hosting the ninth edition of BCN ImproFest, a festival that brings together the city's collective of improvising artists to explore and showcase the particularities of this type of art. It is a complex and heterogeneous group in which each creator contributes their own method to enrich it and give it a personality based on the integration of peculiarities and differences.

This year, the BCN ImproFest is doing its bit for a sustainable and less consumerist world through musical compositions performed with recycled scrap elements, such as the instruments created with car tyres by Jesús Asenjo in his workshop in Monells, in the Baix Empordà. This is why it is called Recycle Sounds.

On the 2nd at 7 pm there will be the inauguration of the exhibition and poetic sound action Toca Sons by Marta Darder, which can be visited until 29 March from Monday to Friday from 9:15 am to 1:45 pm and from 4:15 pm to 9:45 pm, and Saturday from 4:15 pm to 9:45 pm.

The following day, Friday at 8 pm, there will be a session of improvised acoustic music, with three shows:  L'Estripada, by Joan Vibuesa and Montserrat Malfany; a sound action by Nuumucode (with Antoni Robert, Miquel Tuset, Oriol Rugent, Jaume Martín, Sara Pons, Toni Pons, Sergi González and Josep Vila) and Llantarts, with Jesús Asenjo, Miren Remondegui, Ester Bou, Beatrice Jiménez, Zesar Martínez and Andreu Cunill.

Access to the events is free, but to attend the BCN ImproFest Recycle Music on the 3rd you need to book your ticket in advance by clicking here or by calling 934 433 719.
