Beethoven kicks off the new season at the Auditori
The OBC, conducted by Kazushi Ono, will open a new season with the Eroica Symphony and Tchaikovsky's concerto for violin.
Classical music lovers need wait no more, the new season at the Auditori concert hall are all set to begin with a programme that promises to be magnificent. The first date is on 29 September, the first day of a weekend with three performances by the orchestra under the baton of house conductor Kazushi Ono. The first concert features the work of two veritable masters – Tchaikovsky and Beethoven.
The OBC, in its first performance of the season, has chosen to open with Tchaikovsky's famous concerto for violin and orchestra, the maximum expression of Russian romanticism, which will be interpreted by Julian Rachlin on solo violin. This will be followed by one of the most complex symphonies in the repertoire of 19th century classic music: Beethoven's Third Symphony, which is also known as the Eroica, a work imbued with the revolutionary spirit of its time.
