Raluy Legacy

Circ Raluy is back in Barcelona

The troupe’s big top will be set up in Port Vell for another traditional circus show

A visit to the circus is a Christmas tradition for many families and, once again, one of Catalonia’s most traditional and deeply rooted troupes, Circ Raluy Legacy, is returning to Barcelona, true to their seasonal customs. Be prepared to find white-faced clowns, a ringmaster who seems to have stepped right out of the 1940s, spectacular acrobatic couples, a fire-breathing fakir and, of course, breathtaking trapeze artists.

The Raluy circus company is one of the oldest in the world and currently, Lluís Raluy, together with his wife Bàrbara, children and the rest of the Raluy family, is at the head of Circ Raluy Legacy. Since June, this rejuvenated formation has been touring Catalonia, the latest exponents of a long family tradition.

A number of the family’s numbers have marked generations of spectators, including their famous giants balls that climb up steep ramps, their soap bubbles, their unicycles, their balancing act with a billiard table, flying fabrics, skates and “triples”.
