The upbeat sounds of the Gospel Messengers will light us our Christmas
The vocal group is taking part in the concert organized every year by the Hospital de Sant Pau, with a repertoire of spiritual black music.
The Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site is not just one of the wonders of the city’s architecture, but also hosts occasional concerts. The Christmas concert is one of the year’s classic dates and this year features the most important black spiritual vocal group in Barcelona, the Gospel Messengers, a band promoted by the pianist Ramon Escalé in his long career working with choral formations, that shot to fame among the Catalan public in 2013 thanks to their participation in TV3's 'Oh Happy Day'. Since then, the Gospel Messengers have gone a long way, appearing frequently on TV, and recording two albums, the last of which will be presented at Sala Pau Gil in the Modernist ensemble.
The concert is a fun way to celebrate Christmas, since the repertoire chosen by the Gospel Messengers will be made up of all-time classics of black music, featuring not just gospel, but also funk, soul and R & B.
You’ll find more information on the Sant Pau website, where you can also buy your tickets.
