‘Chroma’

‘Chroma’ by Albert Garrell at SAT!

This work was created based on the piece that was a finalist for the Institut del Teatre Dance Award in 2017.

Back in 2017, Albert Garrell, who studied at the IT Dansa school, was a finalist for the Institut del Teatre Dance Award. Based on his nominated creation he went on to develop a complete show called Chroma with Companyia LAB 3.14 Dance Project. The piece speaks about the ability that we all have to breathe colour into an adverse situation that we are going through or have been through and change it. Anna Altés, Neus Expósito, Laia Mora and Nuria Sanmartí, three dancers and an actress, will be expressing the fear, fret and uncertainty that we go through when we make a decision and move in a new direction due to the difficulties this may pose for us. Garrell, wrote this piece alongside Laia Garcia based on a quote from Abraham J. Twerski: “Times of stress are times that are signals for growth.” This refers to the moments of great intensity in our lives, and how they are the time that are most helpful for moving forward.

You’ll have the chance to see Chroma on Friday, 22 November at 8:30 pm, at SAT! (Sant Andreu Teatre), as part of their dance programme, Dansat. After the performance, which will last 1 hour, there will be a discussion with the company if you have any doubts, reflections or queries.

Tickets for the show will cost €15.50. You can buy them in advance on the Sant Andreu Teatre website.
