David Giorcelli Trio will open ‘Dijous Jazz a les Corts’

More music at Les Corts

The Civic Centre Can Deu is opening the cycle 'Dijous Jazz a les Corts', which will run until December.

On September 16, David Giorciello Trio will open the musical cycle 'Dijous Jazz a les Corts', organized by the Civic Centre Can Deu. Giorcelli is one of the current Piano Blues and Boogie Woogie referents of the county and will get up on stage next to Lluís Salvador on the bass and Albert Escudero on the drums. The programme will run until December, giving fans several opportunities to attend. On October 28, you will see Big Dani Pérez & Albert Bello Quintet, two of Spain's manouche or gipsy jazz referents, and their concert will mix both of their styles. The Cavaliere, a trio inspired by the small jazz and swing formations of the 40s and 60s, will perform on November 11 with band members Marc Riera (voice), Eduard Fernández (piano) and Joan Subirats (saxophone).

The next concert will be on November 18, with Johnny Big Stone & Sweet Marta, a blues and traditional American music acoustic duo. They will take you back to the late 19th century, with songs by African-American slaves, which are characterized by their melancholic mood and lyrics about social and personal problems. On November 25, it will be the turn for the Anghe & Her Hot Jazz Trio, with standards and songs from the 20th century by two exponents of the Barcelona scene: pianist Michele Faber and the double bass player Pep Rius. The closing performance will be by Victor Puertas & Marc Ferrer Trio on December 16, with a repertoire combining Gene Harris & Jack McDuff and other classics of the genre.

Tickets cost 8 euros, though you can also enjoy the concerts online for 6,95 euros. Get them here.
