'Bobbi Jene': leaving everything behind in search of a dream

The documentary of the month for March will be screened at a variety of venues in Barcelona.

Audiovisual events producer and organizer Parallel 40 has chosen the film Bobbi Jene as the documentary of the month for March, as part of its Docs Barcelona project. Over the course of one and a half hours, the film tells the story of the Israeli dance star Bobbi Jene who left behind her successful career with the Batsheva Dance Company and the lover of her life to follow her dream to the United States and face new to face new challenges in the world of dance. As the synopsis for the film puts it, the documentary “delves into what it takes for a woman to gain her own independence in the extremely competitive world of dance and to find self-fulfillment in the process”.

Bobbi Jene, which was directed by Danish filmmaker Elvira Lind, was released a couple of years ago and has won a number of awards since that time. In Barcelona, ​​it can be seen on 5 March at Cinemes Girona, on 13 March at Biblioteca Esquerra de l'Eixample - Agustí Centelles, on 14 March at the Fort Pienc Civic Centre and Auditori de Sant Martí, on 18 and 31 March at Teatre de Sarrià, on 19 March at Casa Elizalde and on 28 March at the Torre Llobeta Civic Centre.
