El Trio proposes a musical journey to explore the fusion of flamenco and jazz

Carles Benavent, Tino di Geraldo and Jorge Pardo arrive at El Molino to present their hypnotic album ‘Flamenco Leaks’.

Musical fusion is a journey to the unknown pushed by a tempo of changing dance partners. A range of musicalities that navigate in consonance to offer an exciting and dynamic adventure. El Trio arrives at El Molino on 21 February to present their peculiar way of fusing styles with a jazz that sounds like flamenco or, perhaps, a flamenco essence that is transformed into an eloquent jazz.

But who are the three artists who masterfully combine two ways of making music? Carles Benavent on electric bass, Tino di Geraldo on drums and Jorge Pardo on sax and flute are the members of El Trio, a group that revolutionises the conventional patterns of jazz and flamenco, fusing them in a highly creative proposal.

A musical trio that emerged as a sensory experience, almost as an experiment for the three members. The project, which began two decades ago, has been taking shape and, with a surprising sound and compasses that captivate, managed to become a mass phenomenon. To no one's surprise, El Trio is a benchmark on the jazz scene (and, of course, also in the upper spheres of flamenco) for the quality of sound generated by the impeccable technique of three musicians with great spirit and temperament.

And this is not surprising, considering the individual careers of Benavent, di Geraldo and Pardo, who have toured alongside such important figures as Camarón, Chick Corea and Paco de Lucía. In short, they are three geniuses who come together on stage to present their third album Flamenco Leaks, an album of unstoppable energy that ranges from soleás to ethnic touches with rhythms from the hang with hypnotic melodies that you will have to loop over and over again.

On Friday you have an appointment with music that, thanks to the fusion of styles, will take you on a journey around the world. The best of flamenco, jazz, even rock and classical music condensed into just one concert called El Trio. Will you miss it? You will find more information and tickets on El Molino's website.
