Exploring the world of Miró and Picasso with the family
The Museu Picasso de Barcelona and the Fundació Joan Miró present activities for the whole family, within the Miró-Picasso exhibition.
If you want to immerse yourself in the worlds of Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso, take advantage of the workshops and activities organised for the whole family by the Miró-Picasso exhibition, as part of the events of the Picasso Celebration 1973-2023. The exhibition takes place simultaneously at the two venues and includes more than 250 works. Additionally, you can discover the friendly relationship between the two artists, both of whom changed the history of the last century. During these months, and until February 25, you can take part in the programmed activities. Would you like to know what they are?
On the one hand, the Fundació Joan Miró proposes the workshop Correspondències. To Miró, sender: Picasso, and vice versa with the artist Març Rabal, on February 18 and 25. This workshop will allow you to create a correspondence between the two artists in the Miró and Picasso style, using various materials that the artists used, from postcards, glassine, lined paper, envelopes, to current and old magazines, to create an imaginary dialogue between Miró and Picasso from a contemporary perspective.
On the other hand, the Museu Picasso de Barcelona presents various activities such as the sculpture workshop Subjectar el cel, led by the artist Xavi Rodríguez Martín. During this workshop, you will collectively make a piece of sculpture built together over the course of the sessions, thus creating a unique work of art. Here you will discover the basics of ceramic construction with modelling techniques and pictorial application, an activity that will take place on February 10.
Both artists also explored the world of landscapes as a way of reinventing themselves and experimenting. In the Panorama Tubular workshop, which will be held on February 17 and 24, you will analyse the technique and details of their landscape works. Afterwards, you will create an artistic version of the landscape to be captured in a "tubular panorama", by Àgora Serveis Culturals.
Don't miss out on the family activities organised as part of the Miró-Picasso exhibition to explore the artistic worlds of these two geniuses. The dates vary according to the workshops, as do the prices. For more information or to buy tickets, please check the website of the Museu Picasso de Barcelona or the Fundació Joan Miró.
