Carmen Doorá's performance at Los Tarantos

Carmen Doorá, at flamenco's epicentre

The cantaora will perform at Los Tatantos, the oldest tablao in the city.

Carmen Doorá is an artist committed to many causes, especially environmentalism. Her way of understanding music is revolutionary. As a flamenco singer, her art mixes, in a very particular way, flamenco sounds with other genres such as funk, Latin jazz or even pop.

This August, we will be able to enjoy several concerts by this artist from Murcia at Los Tarantos, the oldest flamenco tablao in Barcelona, created in 1963.

With a multitude of her own songs and also covering other well-known artists who are quite different from her own style, such as Joan Manuel Serrat or Nina Simone, Doorá is an artist who likes to take risks and experiment. Her third album, Orgánica (2021), is an album of popular songs sung live and with the collaboration of Paco Heredia on guitar.

She is the main driving force behind Flamenco Dorao, a company founded in Barcelona with the support of the musician and producer Ángel Dorao. Her shows have premiered in the city with great success, such as Nosotras, vosotros y ellos, a work against gender violence that was chosen in 2017 by Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) for its campaign Mou-te contra la violència masclista.

Doorá is a versatile, international artist and has performed in Paris, Barcelona and other cities where she has lived. She currently lives in Seville and teaches at the Conservatorio Superior Antonio Ruiz Soler.

In her performance at Los Tarantos, she will be accompanied by Juan Santiago "Ñoño" on guitar, Ángel Dorao on percussion and dancers Inés Rubio and Juan Mateos.

Tickets for the concerts can be bought at this link.
