Gala Night at MNAC

The museum celebrates the figure of Gala Dalí.

The temporary exhibition 'Gala Salvador Dalí. A Room in Púbol' has been at MNAC (National Art Museum of Catalonia) for some months now. The aim of the exhibition is to vindicate the role of Elena Dimitrievna Diakonova, better known as Gala, in the history of art. She was the muse of some of the most outstanding artists of her time, including Salvador Dalí. But her influence went much further, creating art that crossed borders. Barcelona’s MNAC is now holding a gala evening in her honour, which they are calling Gala Night. From 6 to 9 pm, visitors will have access to the exhibition will be able to take part in a living game called In the Dreams of Gala Salvador Dalí in which visitors will have to solve an enigma by interacting with characters, all framed within the dreams of Gala and Dalí . Later on, at night, the museum will host the open air screening of Elena Dimitrievna Diakonova Gala, a documentary directed by Sílvia Munt.

All activities start at 6 pm on 5 September at the National Art Museum of Catalonia and is scheduled to finish at midnight.
