Jazz music among Gaudí's chimneys

This summer, Fridays are spent on Pedrera’s rooftop.

La Pedrera is an exceptional stage with great views of Barcelona. To that, add live performances by some of the best young jazz players, and there isn’t much more we can ask for. If the weather is in our favour and the summer breeze is nice and cool, Friday evenings will be even better. Throughout June and July, there will be nine chances to enjoy jazz concerts on the rooftop of La Pedrera - Casa Milà, one of the most emblematic buildings by Antoni Gaudí. Among the legendary chimneys that the genius designed, visitors will be able to witness the voice and trumpet of Milena Casado, the octet The Bop Collective, or the trio Kaleidoscope, among others. Let’s go step by step.

All concerts will be starting at 8.30 pm. However, take note, as there’s something you won’t want to miss. Those arriving before the music stars can walk around the attic of the building, where they will find the interpretative space of Gaudí's work. This opportunity is included in the concert ticket.

The program will kick off on 4 June with a tribute recital to Nina Simone by singer and trombonist Rita Payés and by Martí Serra Quartet. A week later, on 11 June, the attic of the building, which hosts Gaudí’s interpretative work, will be the turn of The Bop Collective. The octet, from Barcelona, will introduce their first album. On the night of 18 June, Lucas Delgado Trio, in collaboration with Rita Payés and the double bassist Juan Pastor, will be in charge. The day after Sant Joan, on 25 June, artists Fèlix Rossy (trumpet) and Toni Saigi (piano) will set the tone for the night. On 2 July, Milena Casado Quartet; on 9 July, Lucia Fumero Trio and Eva Fernandez; on 17 July, Kaleidoscope; on 23 July, Enma Fernández, and on 30 July, Anna Carla Maza will all fill the Pedrera’s rooftop with magic.
