Paula Peso and Old Fashioned Boys at Plaça Reial
This space of the city adjacent to La Rambla will resonate with soul and funk on Friday and jazz and country on Saturday.
2021 has been the birth year of Àgora Musical de la Rambla and La Reial ens Mou, a cultural project promoted by the Barcelona City Council to revitalize the emblematic avenue and to reconnect it with the city. 50 concerts are programmed from June to the end of October in cooperation with a series of social and cultural agents of the capital city.
On Friday, July 16, the Barcelona singer Paula Peso will perform at Plaça Reial in a concert organized by Taller de Músics. She'll play the songs of her first album, Teach You Right – a fresh and energetic compilation that draws from funk, soul, and urban music to create songs with a very distinctive groove; her personality reflected in the lyrics. A strong voice and a wide register that create a warm yet powerful atmosphere set her apart.
The day after, on July 17, "La Reial es mou" has organized, on the same stage, a concert by Old Fashioned Boys, a jazz-fusion band inspired by the language of guitarists of the likes of Larry Carlton, John Scofield or Robben Ford. The band can do it all: from covers to standards to their own songs; from rhythmic, funk and energetic songs to melodic compositions, blues or ballads.
All Àgora Musical activities are free. Tickets for Paula Peso can be booked here; for Old Fashion Boys, here.
