Piece by Antoni Gaudí in the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Modernism

Furniture, painting and sculpture in the Museum of Modernism

The permanent exhibition of the Museum of Modernism of Barcelona will be displaying exceptional furniture pieces.

The Museum of Modernism of Barcelona, the only museum in Europe dedicated to Catalan Modernism, has a permanent display of furniture accompanied by other pieces of painting, sculpture, arts and decorative elements that allow for a complete and exceptional exhibition. Stand out such creators as Joan Busquets and Gaspar Homar, in addition to the Gaudí Universe space, will feature pieces by the “Master of Modernism”, both furniture and other decorative arts. The pieces of painting and sculpture complete the exhibition and give a global vision to this important artistic movement in Catalonia, bringing to the table other essential artists such as Santiago Rusiñol, Josep Llimona, Eusebi Arnau or Ramon Casas.

Ramon Casas is, without a doubt, one of the most prominent figures of the Catalan Modernism. Considered the promoter of the pictorial movement in Catalonia at the end of the 19th century, his painting is a clear example of symbolist Modernism. The museum dedicates a space to this painter, draftsman and poster artist which, together with Rusiñol, represented a before and after in the bohemian epoch.

The price of general admission is 12 euros. You can visit the permanent exhibitions during regular museum hours, which can be found here, along with other information.
