Andrea Motis and Joan Chamorro a the Mas i Mas Festival

An August full of music with the Mas i Mas Festival

The festival celebrates its 16th anniversary in Barcelona with jazz, soul and electronic music.

The Mas i Mas Festival is set to fill the stages of a number of different venues in Barcelona for the sixteenth consecutive year with a wide range of concerts that will appeal to all kinds of audiences. The programme features around 70 different dates with more than 200 performances in a wide variety of styles including jazz, blues, soul, R & B and electronic music.

The action is set to kick off on 31 July with a concert by Lucky Chops, a soul-funk group that’s gone viral thanks to their versions of popular songs performed on the New York subway in their explosive, inimitable style. The venue, like for many of the festival performances, is Teatre Coliseum. They will be followed there by Incognito (5 August), Electro Deluxe (11 August), Andrea Motis Swing Tribute (23 August), Juan Perro Sexteto (25 August) and Clarence Bekker Band (31 August), who will bring the Mas i Mas Festival to a close.

One of the new developments in this year’s edition of the festival is that the Global Music Foundation Barcelona'18 will be at Jamboree from 1 to 7 August with top-level musicians like Eddie Henderson, Bruce Barth and Rene Marie, who will also be leading a series of seminars and workshops at Taller de Músics and Club Natació Atlètic Barceloneta.

All of the concerts in the festival will take from 31 July to 31 August at Teatre Coliseum, Jamboree, Tarantos and Moog. Check out the festival programme to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the action!

There is a wide range of ticket prices and even one free concert. Check out the details here.
