Manuel González, one concert only

Considered one of the best guitar players in the world, he will be performing at the Basilica of Santa Maria del Pi on the 20thanniversary of the Maestros de la Guitarra festival.

One of the most talented Spanish-guitar players today is Manuel González. This Barcelona-born performer has devoted his life to this instrument, with mentors and friends that have included José Tomás, Eduard Sainz de la Maza, David Russel and Manuel Barrueco. González has performed at emblematic venues, including the United Nations headquarters in New York, being featured in media outlets worldwide. This January you will have the chance to see him playing one solo concert as part of the Maestros de la Guitarra (Masters of Guitar) festival, celebrating its 20thanniversary. This year's festival will also feature other talented musicians, including Pedro Javier González, Ekaterina Záytseva, Alí Arango and the Barcelona Guitar Trio.

The solo concert by Manuel González in the Maestros de la Guitarra festival will be on 15 February at 9.00 pm, at the Basilica of Santa Maria del Pi. This musician had the honour of being the first Catalan guitar soloist to give a solo performance at the Palau de la Música Catalana. For all of this and much more, he was awarded the Generalitat de Catalunya award in honour of his career. Additionally, Manuel González was one of the founders of the Luthier school in Barcelona, which has trained whole generations of music-lovers.

Advance tickets for this concert cost €19, or €23 at the door. You can get yours on the Maestros de la Guitarra festival website.
