Música Z

Música Z is back

Thirteen music projects from three Barcelona Higher Music Schools.

This winter sees the return of Música Z! Thirteen young groups will be performing on nine stages in the Civic Centre Network, from 12 January to 30 March, as part of a programme offering as many as forty concerts, in a local and shared experience.

Check out all the events link, download the programme in PDF format or see the Calendar by day and you’ll be able to organise the calendar to suit your tastes.

The programme, which was launched last year in collaboration with the Liceu Music Conservatory, is branching out with new groups of students from the Jam Session Higher Music School and Musicians Workshops, expanding its range of music styles programme this year.

This year, 2023, you’ll be able to discover a progressive rock and metal quintet Authors of confusion, the Holmes Quartet  clarinet quartet, the singer-songwriters Júlia Català and Laura Xiu, the Mercurii string quartet, the Oaks and Fahia acoustic duo, the Pina Pintado and Mimi Robin singer-songwriter duo, the flamenco trio made up of Sonia Molina, David Salgado & Álvaro López, the Supersax sax quintet, the The leftovers instrument and vocal group, the Korena violin, clarinet and piano trio, the Tarsis flamenco guitar trio, the Waiting for Batista pop sextet and the soprano Yelen Montero accompanied by pianist Oriana Kemelmajer.

Performing in front of an audience is an essential part of the learning and experience-acquisition process. For the audience, it’s an opportunity to find out how the future talent is being trained and to discover the diversity of music styles and languages.

This second edition sees more venues taking part in Música Z. Concerts will be held at the following centres: CC Casa Orlandai (Sarrià – Sant Gervasi), CC Josep Maria Trias i Peitx (Les Corts)CC Navas (Sant Andreu)CC Pere Pruna (Sarrià – Sant Gervasi)CC Torre Llobeta (Nou Barris) and CC Vil·la Florida (Sarrià – Sant Gervasi) which took part last year, and also at CC Can Verdaguer (Nou Barris), CC El Sortidor (Sants - Montjuïc) and CC Sagrada Família (Eixample).
