Open-air cinema and music in Sala Montjuïc
From 2 July to 6 August, Castell de Montjuïc's Gardens will transform into a large movie theatre under Barcelona's sky.
One more edition of Sala Montjuïc, the summer cycle of outdoor cinema at Castell de Montjuïc, is starting. This year's program combines international blockbusters from the past two years with contemporary classics from the first two decades of the 21st century. Starting on 2 July with Amélie this is the schedule: Once upon a time in... Hollywood (09/07), Joker (12/07), Jojo Rabbit (16/06), Captain Fantastic (19/07), Parasite (23/07), Breakfast at Tiffany's (26/07), Knives Out (28/07), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (02/08) and Little Women (04/08). In addition, there will be four screenings of the Nit Grec, which are part of the Grec Festival's program. These will include The People Upstairs (07/07), Cidade de Deus (14/07), The Intouchables (21/07) and Invictus (30/07). The program will finish with the screening of a surprise film.
All sessions will kick off with a concert. Taking the Castell's stage will be Pierre Arnaud Quartet, Afrikemet, The Monkey Men, Veramérica, Alma Afrobeat Ensemble, Chino Swingslide And The Sharps, River Omelet, Adê, Gypsy Vampers, Songs Nina Sang, Gafieira Miúda, Inna Sound Foundation, Ramiro Pinheiro Quintet and Rita Payés, Flat pack, and Mirla Riomar Quartet. Concerts will be starting at 8.45 pm and screenings at 10 pm. Doors will open at 8 pm.
General admission tickets will be 7.50 euros, and tickets for a lounger, 10.50 euros. Buy them (only) on Sala Montjuïc's website and show them directly on your phone.
