‘----- (--- ----- ------- --- ----.)’

Blueproject Foundation presents ‘----- (--- ----- ------- --- ----.)’ by Pablo Rasgado

The Mexican artist-in-residence at the gallery in the Born is exhibiting a series of never-before-shown sculptures.

Pablo Rasgado is the third artist-in-residence displaying their work at the Blueproject Foundation this year, after Anna Natt and Mikel Escobales. The Mexican artist is presenting the exclusive exhibition ‘----- (--- ----- ------- --- ----.)’, featuring a series of never-before-shown sculptures based on silencing and covering up information, each with the source material and a model. Rasgado created the sculptures with construction materials, including bricks, cement, wood and others, as well as various architectural elements, based on the visual aspect of the censured documents. All of these files were redacted, which is the process of eliminating confidential information from a document or other sort of message so it can be shared with a wider audience. This normally results in something illegible, which is what the artist wanted to show in his pieces.

Rasgado’s inspiration, above all, was the leaks to organisations such as WikiLeaks and FOIA, and he aims to give viewers a tangible experience of the magnitude of censorship today. The exhibition ‘----- (--- ----- ------- --- ----.)’ will be open to the public from 5 April to 2 June, Tuesdays to Fridays from 10 am to 8 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon to 7 pm, at the Blueproject Foundation. The exhibition will be closed on 1 May.

The Pablo Rasgado exhibition is open to the public free of charge.  More information is available on the gallery website.
