Calidoscopi 2022: Women, humour and feminism
The cultural cycle promoted by the District of Sant Andreu spreads the female humour code through twenty civic centres and facilities.
This year, the Calidoscopi Cultural cycle, promoted by the District of Sant Andreu, together with the facilities and services of the territory to vindicate the cultural production of the neighbourhood, will have female humour as its protagonist. There is no doubt that women's freedom and ability to laugh have historically been repressed and supplanted. Its curator, Ana Polo, notes that "humour has always been developed from a masculine and macho code that has determined the current construct", which is why it is necessary to question "all the humorous stories that are made from a position of privilege."
From 4 May to 21 June, Calidoscopi 2022 will transform every corner of the district into a diverse and local stage to meet, learn, and, above all, laugh from a code made by women with a feminist perspective. You will find workshops, conferences, monologues, theatre, storytelling sessions and concerts. One of the highlights will be the day Rialles és femení, which will be held on 28 May, and includes a family storytelling session by Alba Millaruelo, an amateur theatre show by CGG Mossèn Clapés and poetry and monologue shows (in the morning, starting at 11 a.m., at the Casal de Gent Gran Bascònia), and a film forum, a theatre show by Somni'ts group and a performance by Corrandes són Corrandes (in the afternoon, at the Ignasi Iglésias - Can Fabra Library).
