The secrets of Pixar, uncovered

The CosmoCaixa Science Museum organises practical activities to explain the production process of the company's animated films.

Until 3 September you can visit The Science of Pixar at CosmoCaixa, an exhibition that is the result of a collaboration between these animation studios and the Museum of Science in Boston.

The exhibition allows visitors to discover in an educational and attractive way - with physical and digital interactives, interviews and video stories - the process that goes into the creation of Pixar films. The tour includes an introductory audiovisual presentation and eight sections - modelling, rigging, surfaces, sets and cameras, animation, simulation, lighting and rendering - which explain the production phase and can be visited in any order.

Devising characters, creating their skeletons, making three-dimensional models, generating virtual environments and scenarios or applying the appropriate lighting are some of the missions of the company's professionals: artists and experts in animation and computer science who apply science, technology, engineering and mathematics to the world of creation.

Various complementary activities are organised around it. This is the case of the guided tour and the themed menu, the guided tour The Science of Pixar or the Animated Stories workshop. See prices and availability of dates by clicking on each of the links.

Admission to the exhibition itself is included with access to CosmoCaixa. It costs 6 euros and can be purchased in advance by clicking here.
