Skeptics in the Pub

On Saturday April 27 Jesús Purroy will talk about the side effects of integrative medicine in the Skeptics in the Pub series.

In this new edition of Skeptics in the Pub Jesus Purroy will discuss alternative medicines which, despite not having proved its effectiveness, every day have more users. The talk will take place at La Papa Center (C/Tapioles, 12 Barcelona) on April 27th at 7:30 pm.

In response to pressure from many users who claim it, some public health systems are integrating practices such as acupuncture, homeopathy and other services to their offer. The argument of the supporters of this "integrative medicine" is that it all adds up, and that the effect of these practices complement the traditional medical interventions. Is it really so? Does alternative medicine have side effects?

Jesus Purroy is doctorate in biology and the Science and Technology Services Technical Director at Parc Científic. He has published several books, including the winner of the last edition of the European Science Award 'General Studies', awarded by the University of Valencia and the city of Alzira, All you need to know to know everything.
