UtopiaMarkets 2021

Poblenou: a showcase for photography, poetry and illustration

UtopiaMarkets is celebrating its 5th edition with a three-day activity program from October 22 to 24.

What would usually happen across three separate weekends is this year coming together as one huge market that will last for three whole days. UtopiaMarkets is celebrating its 5th edition with a Macro Market that will take place from October 22 to 24 and that will connect the three collectives that usually take part in the project: photography, poetry and illustration. The event will be held at Utopia 126, a modernist factory built in 1905 in Poblenou that still preserves its original style. During the event, it will become a space where to experience and talk about art directly with the artists. Some of the participants of this edition's photography category are Ana Álvarez Errecalde, Maite Caramés, Renata D'Ángelo, Maite de Orbe, Bonaventura Durall, Daniel Loewe and Enric Macià; in poetry, Café Central; and in illustration, Laia Armengol, Adrián Belastegui, Mercedes Bielsa, Lluis Cadafalch, Gemma Capdevila, Juan Carter, Xavi Casals, Dalmaus, Estela de Arenza and El Marqués.

There will also be a range of activities, some of which combine two or more artistic disciplines. You can attend, for instance, unpublished recitals, screenings, exhibitions and children workshops that complement the market's offers, where you will find more than 40 stands from professional photographers, illustrators and poets, as well as some independent poetry editorials. The venue will also have a gastronomic area made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Flash Flash restaurant.
