The Vespres de la Universitat de Barcelona, more Barcelona than ever

The Vespres de la Universitat de Barcelona (University of Barcelona Evenings) are a classic in the city’s summer music line-up, and this year the momentum is only rising as they reach their 14th edition. Every July, the centre organises outdoor concerts featuring prominent bands on the emerging music scene, and this summer they wanted to make it even more local by primarily showcasing bands from Barcelona, without forgetting its hallmark: novelty, innovation and charisma. There will be a total of six musical evenings, where you can enjoy Marcel Lázara and Júlia Arrey’s cross-border sounds of initiation, Hijos del Trueno’s beats, Her Little Donkey’s dream-like, elegant sound, Rombo’s stories of love and friendship, Estramoni’s ingenious poetry and Lauren Nine’s rap and R&B. It’s the perfect place to present such unique projects in a welcoming atmosphere to a general audience who wants to have fun.

All the concerts in the Vespres de la Universitat de Barcelona will be held from 2 to 18 July, every Tuesday and Thursday at 9 pm in the garden of the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona. It’s important to know that you should enter the gardens on the corner of Carrer de la Diputació and Enric Granados. Before each performance, the grounds will open at 6 pm so the audience can enjoy a terrace with a food truck vending sandwiches and a bar.
