Violinist Isabelle Faust is back in Barcelona
The concert is to feature a full version of 'Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin' by Johann Sebastian Bach
Music lovers are in luck this week. One of the most renowned violinists in the world is back in Barcelona to perform at Palau de la Música Catalana and, unlike other visits to our city, this time she’s here as a solo artist. Isabelle Faust is scheduled to play a piece that is a veritable tour de force for any violinist; a challenge that few performers dare take on.
Her goal is to perform in one sole session the complete Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin by Johann Sebastian Bach. This work is one of the composer’s greatest achievements, a monumental endeavor that is demanding for both performers and public. Faust will arrive her accompanied only by her Stradivarius (Sleeping Beauty, 1704) to play in an intimate setting that is perfect for performing and listening to music. What is destined to be of the memorable concerts of the season is scheduled for Sunday 24th April at 5pm.
