The Liceu, from the engine room to the stage

We can visit every corner of the legendary opera house thanks to new technologies.

The spaces where the Liceu Orchestra and Choir rehearse, the tailoring department, the patio of seats from the top of the stage, the Saló dels Miralls ... These are some of the points of visit of the Gran Teatre del Liceu that with the Google Maps panoramic service and the Street View can be seen with our smartphones. A complete 360º virtual tour of the Barcelona opera house that is made possible by the collaboration between the Center for Telecommunications and Information Technologies (CTTI) of the Generalitat de Catalunya and Google, and which has been put into operation in the season that the Liceu celebrates the 20th anniversary of its reopening.

To make the visit, just go to Google Maps, search for the Gran Teatre del Liceu, and choose the Street View option. You will then start a tour that will take you through all the floors of the building, and accessing places that you could hardly know in any other way. There is even the option to go out on the terrace and enjoy magnificent views of Ciutat Vella.

The Gran Teatre del Liceu opened its doors in 1837, is located in the heart of Barcelona's Rambla, and is a space through which all the great operatic titles have passed. The main hall has a capacity of 2,292 seats, and has also hosted and hosts concerts of other musical genres beyond opera.
