What are stem cells?

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) organizes a new 'scientific café' about the use of stem cells to cure diseases

If adults have stem cells in their bodies, does it make sense to keep the umbilical cord stem cells at birth? What do scientists know exactly about stem cells nowadays?

On Tuesday, April 29 at 7 pm, CRG invites the public to learn and discuss this subject in a debate with the following experts:

Ángel Raya
Research Professor and director of the Center of Regenerative Medicine in Barcelona (CMRB)

José-María Pujal
PhD, MD. in Inmunology, researcher and Scientific Advisor for Sevibe Cells

Bruno di Stefano
Ph.D. student at the Hematopoietic stem cells, transdifferentiation and reprogramming group at the CRG

The event is free and will take place at Bar Rouge (Poeta Cabanyes 21, Barcelona).
