World Theatre Day

Barcelona opens up its theatres for World Theatre Day

On 27 March, coinciding with this celebration, the theatres of Barcelona will hold open days and the tourist bus will follow a special route.

27 March has been celebrated as World Theatre Day since 1961 and Barcelona, with its rich theatrical tradition, has always been a keen collaborator with this reminder of the importance of the art form to our civilization. For the 2018 edition, the city’s theatres will be participating by opening their doors to show people how they work from the inside, as well as giving them a taste of some upcoming premieres.

Participating theatres include Teatre Poliorama, Teatre Victòria, Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, Teatre Akadèmia, Almeria Teatre, Sala Fènix, La Puntual, La Seca Espai Brossa, Tantarantana, Porta 4, Teatre Condal, Teatre Goya, Romea, Sala Beckett and TívoliPoliorama. And, to help you get from one theatre to another, Barcelona’s tourist bus will be following a special route linking them up.
