Citizen Science Day will focus on citizen participation in research projects
This year, the event will be dedicated to reflecting on the challenge of active citizen participation in research projects.

The Citizen Science Day, which will be held on 10 October 2024 at the García Márquez Library, offers a space for sharing and debating the practice of citizen science and its constant evolution. This year, the event will be dedicated to reflecting on the challenge of active citizen participation in research projects.
We will explore the most common engagement strategies, the range of existing participation structures, and different participatory research methodologies, such as citizen science, citizen observatories, and Living Labs, among others, to find solutions to shared challenges.
It will be a day with two complementary sections. The first section, in the morning, is aimed at professionals and scientific, social, educational, and cultural stakeholders interested in approaches to research involving citizen participation. The second, in the afternoon, is open to everyone and is designed to bring citizen science closer to people of all ages. There will be an activity for children and another aimed at adults who want to learn about some of the projects directly from the researchers who carry them out.
Additionally, taking advantage of the library’s connection with Latin America, the morning session will feature experts developing research projects in collaboration with Latin American communities.
