Florence Lazar is one of the current most important French filmmakers, but the way she enrolls in the film industry almost always prevents their visibility beyond her home country. Lazar does not respect formats or durations, she experiments with video and high definition, with exposure and installation. It is an independent and multidisciplinary artist who understands cinema as a place of knowledge, reality transformation and aesthetic research. Les Bosquets is inscribed in her filmography proposing a reading of the spaces that surround us and their transformations almost always marked by a predatory capitalism: the same that caused war and oblivion in Bosnia in her recent Kamen (2014) where she converts a community built on poverty and solidarity in the Parisian banlieue (where the 2005 riots took place) in a stronghold of marginalization and isolation.
