Shooting Kusturicaland, by Joan Bennàssar Cerdà

+ Vermouth with the artist
19 April, 2015 - 11:30

The work by Joan Bennàssar Cerdà presented in the exhibition is transmitted through the writing of a film script in which Kusturica, along with the different characters in his imagination, discusses creating the film and the problems associated with building this city inside another city. The exhibition space and the props become the stage for the film shoot. When it is finished, the script and the film will be sent to the director.

Joan Bennassar Cerdà (Palma de Mallorca, 1991) has shown in institutions and galleries such as Fabra i Coats Centre d'Art Contemporani (Abandoned Futures, Yesterday was already the question, 2014); Zona intrusa 8, Mataró (2015); MACBA Auditorium (Futuro memories); Es Baluard, Museu d'art contemporani de Palma, Mallorca (Futuro performance and Tabula Rasa 2014); MUU Gallery Helsinki (Tabula rasa, 2014); Hilvaria studios, Tildburg, Holland (Tabula rasa 2014); Galerie RDV Nantes, France (Paradís Artificial, 2014); La Capella (triple mortal, 2014); Maserre Gallery (Balcan dream, 2013); Galería Trama, (Premi ART<30 with the project Permanent vacation, 2013); UNIBO, Bologna (“Leggere Pasolini”, 2013); Halfhouse (Collapsed House, 2013). He has recently received the Sala d'art Jove Creation and Research Grant in collaboration with MACBA, the Can Felipa Arts Visuals 2015 and the Guasch Coranty 2015 Grants. He currently lives and works in Barcelona.

The "vermouth with the artists" is a regular activity from the Office for Education, where we enjoy the exhibition in a different way, and we can talk in a relaxed way with one of the artists of the exhibition.
